A 2-litre Mercedes-sourced diesel with 140bhp and 228lb-ft of torque doesn't have the power to drag the bulk of the Kyron.
Good off-road performance from 4WD models but on-road manners are poor. No feedback from road, poor cornering and very lean-y into corners.
Pushing the diesel engine is noisy.
Well priced but depreciation and running costs will eat away at your original saving.
Looks durable and high quality. Shouldn't be any engine problems.
ABS and two airbags are standard. Stability control above that.
Plenty of space for passengers and luggage.
Aircon, electric windows, CD player and alloy wheels are standard. 4WD, leather, satnav and more at top spec.
Kia Sorento.
Chinese manufacturer SAIC which revived the Rover (or Roewe) marque has a controlling share in the South Korean manufacturer. Ssangyong means double dragon.
Cheap, big, good offroad.
False economy due to depreciation and running costs. Poor on the road.

As a company we need reliable vehicles for our project work. The Kyron Auto has proved so good we went out and bought another. Good MPG, excellent interior finish and QUIET. The leather is on a par with Mercedes and the Mercedes Auto box is very smooth. Build quality is really good and now the Directors are buying them for their wives. Beats our previous KIA by a long way. Verve have proved excellent to deal with. Their Sales staff have been very Knowledgeable especailly Graham Bowie at thier Glasgow branch.
