Smaller engines need to be pushed hard, having been designed with economy in mind, but they should oblige if pushed.
Grips well and will ride around town well. Ride is pretty good.
Diesels drone a little but the cabin is well insulated from exterior noise.
Running costs are good, especially on the lower-rated engines and starting prices are competitive.
Good mechanicals and cabin.
Plenty of safety kit and a 5-star NCAP rating.
Good space for four and increased boot capacity.
Remote central locking, alloys and CD player are standard.
Fiat Punto, Peugeot 207
Well refined, good drive, good space.
Smaller engines aren't for those who enjoy their driving.

My title basically describes the car, it was a pleasure to drive, a very smooth drive, as I said in the title Renault are trying to capture the essence of old skool French and new skool European, although I drove the basic model the "Authentique" 5dr 8V 1.2 Hatch but would recommend the later models.
