170bhp 1.6-litre engine is a bit of a screamer; also available with six-speed paddle-shift gearbox.

Driving

Steering, grip and body control are superb. Ride is a little firm but not unpleasantly so.

Had this car for over two years now and it still excites me when I drive it. The Cooper S has a certain character that I find charming yet aggressive when it needs to be,a great balance in my eyes. The chili pack add's a little bit of some thing extra which i belive is worth while for the money spent is partially returned at selling time. I went for full leather which is the best option for the half cloth option looks a mess after a bit living in! I'm already eyeing up the Cooper S convertible but don't know if it looks as good? To sum up the Cooper S it's easy for the car has the quality and reliability of a BMW and more importantly the style of a re-invented classic that is loved by all. It's strong in second hand value and the demand in used mini's see that you can lose it when you want at the market price!
