1.8, 3.0 and 5.5-litre engines are all eager. The first is adequate, the latter a monster and the middle one just right.
Taut body; great handling. Ride is fine, even on optional Sports suspension.
Controlled even with the body down. Quiet with the roof up or down.
You don't expect economy or low tax from a car like this, but at entry-level it's good for the money. Residuals will be good.
Lots of complex electricals may prove a headache but the car is well-built.
many airbags and driving controls mean 5 NCAP stars
Space for two comfortably. Boot is decent if the roof is up.
Climate and cruise control, CD changer, alloys, satnav, leather...
BMW Z4, Audi TT, Porsche Boxster, Mazda MX-5, Lotus Elise
Sporty, good engines.
Expensive.

One of the nicest sports car I have owned. A lovely car to drive, no longer a women“s car anymore . The 200 slk you may be disappointed with the power ? the 350slk just too much for me, abit of a hand full, but the 280 slk v6 3000cc engine is just the job and has enough power for anyone. With the roof up the cockpit is roomy and comfortable not too noisy. The roof falls with a touch of a button (8th wonder of the world) with the sun out the top down the roar from the car its like being in haven. It like owning two different cars for the price of one. The big plus, when parking you have the added security with the hard top. I would recommend the electric seats and the head scarfs with these added extras its comfortable to drive all the year round with the top down . Treat yourself you are only on this earth the once. Enjoooooy.
