Coupe

Stylish and pleasant but loses out on driveability.

Performance

1.8 is pointless on a car like this. Two V6s and V8 are powerful, as you'd imagine. 3.0-litre diesel is quick and powerful.

Driving

Good traction and suspension, but it's not a real sports car: the ride is too soft.

Feel

Good cruiser. Avoid manual box

Mercedes CLK Second Picture

Price

Costly to buy and run but the diesel and residuals will claw back some of those costs.

Quality

Superb quality throughout.

Safety

ABS, six bags, stability control.

Space

Decent for 2x2 and good boot.

Equipment

Decent amount of kit as standard.

Alternatives

Audi TT

Pros

Good engines, refinement.

Cons

Doesn't have the performance of a genuine sports car.
