Jag-sourced engines are high-geared through and auto box and need to be worked hard through the gears. Diesel is more economical. V8 4.4-litre is powerful and refined.
Great suspension, stability, cornering and little body roll. Off-road ability is awesome.
Engines are smooth and quiet when cruising. Generally quiet in the cabin.
Buying and running costs will be expensive, though residuals will be very strong.
Should be much more reliable than previous models thanks to lots of hard work from Land Rover boffins. Interior is comfortable but easy-to-use.
Stability and traction control, ABS and hill descent control are standard, along with loads of bags and 4WD
Huge seven-seat space. Split tailgate and folding seats provide versatility.
Specced up-to-the-hilt with all the options you'd expect from such a vehicle. Not that much at basic level though.
BMW X5
Good onroad and off, huge space.
Expensive to buy and run.
