2.5-litre V6 needs to be revved to get the best out of it, and it's thirsty as a result. Diesel is a decent affair, but doesn't offer the power or torque that it should at 2.9-litres.
Rather boring to drive, with the suspension smoothing any joy into oblivion. Grip lacking as a result and body roll an issue.
Diesel is noisy and the transmission is jerky.
Good value for the size but running costs are variable, with high emissions and low economy and that Kia badge all contributing to high costs and poor resale value.
The car seems sturdy enough and there's a useful three-year unlimited mileage warranty. Interiors could be a bit smarter though.
Six bags, ABS, brakeforce distribution all standard.
Seven seats, though it's cramped behind the front. Rear seats slide, recline and fold, though they need to be lifted out completely to extend the boot to a huge 1,770 litres.
Basic trim has aircon and CD player. Loads more kit available on higher trims.
Hyundai Trajet
Good large MPV for the money.
Poor engines, drive and interior build quality. Practicality of seating is limited.

We currently have a 2001 Sedona LS and have just ordered a new TS but have seen the new TS in Germany. I do like it and yes, I do look forward to all the refinements (time will tell if they are unreliable gimicks or really worth having). I DO like the reduced turning circle, the reversing sensors, the privacy glass, Aux input for MP3 players, the smaller front end (the old square front alsways got scratched). I am UNSURE about the handbrake (now a foot operated device) as my current car took some holding on a hill! Note this will be compounded by the wieght of all those electric motors - the added power of the uprated engine should cope (note top speed now 122 vrs old 106). I DON'T like the changed seats - the old captains seats in the 2nd row were superbly comfortable - I am concerned about the thin new seats and no arm rests. I also don't like the black masking between the rear windows - old model had an all glass side that kept its looks. Finally look where the fuel tank is!
