If you like the look of it, can afford it, and don't expect to make a good return it's a decent, big car. If money's at a premium don't even bother.
Performance 
3.0-litre petrol and 2.7-litre diesel provide good power through 6-speed auto box. The diesel is the better bet.
Driving
Great comfort due to Hydractive gas suspension, but also makes for poor handling. Good for long motorway cruises.
Feel
Not the quietest of cars due to some road noise, otherwise fine.
Price
Poor economy and high tax on petrol models. Resale values not expected to be good.
Quality
Cabin is good, as are engines but complexity may lead to problems in the future.
Safety
9 airbags, maximum rating for adult passenger and pedestrian safety. Stability control and lane-departure system.
Space
Long wheel-base makes for plenty of room inside, with 5 passengers easily accommodated. Plenty of bootspace.
Equipment
Leather seats, air-con, satnav as standard, as are electric seat-adjusters.
Alternatives
Audi A6, Jaguar S-Type, Mercedes CLS
Pros
Spacious, alternative, good engines and ride. Looks a bit like a Rover SD1 from the side. We think that's a good thing.
Cons
Expensive to buy and run. You won't make a good return when you sell it on.
