1.6 engine provide 110 125bhp in VTR and VTS respectively, with only the latter having a modicum of oomph. Paddle-shift gearbox is clunky.
Lots of cornering grip but steering is a bit sloppy.
Sporty, with all the pros and cons that 'sporty' entails.
Low running costs and deals may be available.
Interior trims a bit flimsy. Engines fine.
ABS, four bags, deadlocks and alarm as standard.
Good upfront. Poor in the back. Split rear seats improves negligible bootspace.
Alloys, CD player and electric front windows on VTR but air-con is extra.
Renault Clio RenaultSport
VTR and VTS are abbreviations of Vitesse Tres Rapide (Very Fast speed ) and Vitesse Tres Sportif (Very Sporting Speed).
Looks good, decent kit as standard.
Not a great drive. Auto 'box is rubbish.
