Performance

Two engines that feel underpowered. The 1.2-litre accelerates slowly while the 1.4 has more pull, but complains if thrashed.

Driving

Not good on grip and offers little feedback. Moves over bumps OK, but leans around the corners.

Feel

Engines don't like being pushed, and are noisy and irritating at speed.

Residuals will be poor but buying and running costs are good.

Quality

Good warranty and servicing packs if bought new. Interiors are a little cheap-looking but you can't expect much more at these prices.

Safety

ABS, alarm and immobiliser as standard. Beyond that it s slim pickings: four airbags on all but the basic model.

Decent space upfront but taller passengers will be brushing the roof. Rear seats fold down to provide more space - 980 litres.

Equipment

Power steering and central locking on all models. Alloys, aircon and electric windows on SX trim.
