2.8 and 3.6-litre V6s married to a cautious automatic gearbox that doesn't like you gunning the engine.
Steering light and lacking in grip.
Noise inside the cabin is kept at a minimum and the engines are well-behaved.
Starting prices may not be too bad but this will be an expensive car to run. Lack of Caddy dealerships around the country will spell problems if you live any distance from one.
Smart trim, though not quite luxury standard. Good engines.
Loads of airbags, ABS, traction control and stability control.
Rear headroom is a little cramped, but generous elsewhere. The boot is a roomy 420 litres and the rear seats fold down.
Leather, alloys and climate control as standard. Sunroof and metallic paint are optional.
Mercedes E-Class Saloon, BMW 5 Series, Jaguar S-Type, Audi A6
Looks good. Quirky choice.
High running costs, indifferent drive.
