Performance

Three petrols range from 1.9- to 3.2-litre models and 1.9- and 2.4-litre diesels, both providing plenty of power. The 2.2 petrol and 2.4 diesels are both good propositions.

Driving

Good steering and grip but some body sway around tight corners. The 3.2 petrol doesn't make the most of its power, as it's carrying more weight.

Quiet and smooth.

Looks great inside and engines are strong. Time will tell how the 159 bears up.
