Vauxhall expects to double UK sales of the Movano van with the release of the second generation model of the large commercial vehicle.
To reach the ambitious target, Vauxhall is offering a launch pack including £1,400 worth of equipment with all models of the Movano van ordered before 31 July.
The launch pack includes air conditioning, a trip computer, vehicle alarm and Bluetooth connectivity. In addition, a new entry-level Expression model brings the entry price of a Movano van down by £1,400.
Built in the Luton plant alongside the Vivaro, the Movano is available in 29 derivatives, including four wheelbase lengths and four 2.3CDTi common-rail diesel engines offering lower CO2 emissions and greater fuel economy than the outgoing model.
For the first time, the Movano is available with rear and front-wheel drive. The panel van is also available in doublecab, platform, chassis and crew cab variants.
Vauxhall, owned by General Motors, has recently been offered a £270 million loan from the UK Government in order to ensure continued production and save jobs.
Currently over 5,000 people are employed by Vauxhall in the Ellesmere Port, Luton and Cheshire plants.
Vauxhall hopes the Movano will double annual production and secure production of future commercial vehicles at the Luton plant.
Prices for the entry-level Expression model starts at £20,250. Vauxhall is offering a range of extra optional packs with the Movano, including office, lighting, comfort and construction packs.
The Movano will join the Vivaro, Combo, Astravan and Corsavan in the Vauxhall van range.
