The first Skoda Superb Estate has rolled off production lines in the Czech Republic, prior to going to on sale in the UK in 2010.
The first model – an Elegance 2.0 TDI CR 170bhp DSG DPF in Satin Grey - is a left-hand drive model. Right-hand drive production will follow in January 2010.
The Skoda estate offers a class-leading load volume of up to 1,865 litres, or 633 litres with the rear seats up.
A choice of three petrol and three diesel engines will be available in the Superb Estate, mated to manual and DSG transmissions – the same engine range as is available in the Superb hatch range.
The Superb Estate is 4,838 mm long, 1,817 wide and 1,510 high – the 'most spacious and practical car' in the upper-medium segment, according to Skoda.
New optional features on the Superb Estate include a keyless entry and ignition system and a revised version of VW's Park Assist system that allows the estate to parallel park automatically. An electronically operated boot opening and panoramic sunroof are also available.
Skoda has sold over 3,000 Superb hatch models since it went on sale in 2008 in the UK.
Sales of the Skoda Superb Estate are expected to start in the UK from 2010.
