New Audi Q7 V12 – owners talk the torque

Biggest bragging rights in the updated and extended Audi model range go to the new and sharply restyled Q7 SUV seven-seat, 6.0-litre, V12 TDI diesel, twin turbocharger unit with 500PS of power but an enormous 1,000Nm (737.5lb ft) of torque and priced at £95,225.
This is the world’s most powerful diesel passenger car. The sales hotspot for this model in the UK is Cheshire, home to many of the Premiership footballers belonging to Manchester and Liverpool football clubs, people who ‘talk the torque’.
Top speed is limited to 155mph while the 0-62mph dash takes 5.5 seconds. Oh yes a minor point the official fuel economy is 25mpg, 17.2mpg in test this week, so road tax is currently £405 a year.
From next April VED will go to £950 for the first year of registration, before returning to £435 for the second and successive years.
Only 40 of the V12 Q7s will be coming to the UK in a full year although the entire Q7 range will attract around 2,500 UK sales driven by customers wanting smaller diesel and a petrol engine options, but still wanting the status of driving a high profile, premium brand, seven-seat SUV.
Audi's current model range includes the A3, A4, the A5 which now includes the Sportback versions, the A6, TT Coupe and Roadsters, R8 supercars, the Q5 SUV and the Q7. Future models will be the A1 compact hatchback and the Q3 compact SUV.
