This year’s Frankfurt Motor Show will see the official debut of the Leon Cupra R, the flagship model of the SEAT Leon fleet.
The Cupra R’s 265 bhp 2.0 TSI Turbo petrol engine will propel car and passengers alike to 62 mph from standing in 6.1 seconds before topping out at 155 mph and the new Leon matches the power output of the title winning SEAT Leon TDI World Touring Car. Despite the pace and power the combined fuel consumption figures for the Cupra R are set to be just under, a fairly reasonable, 35 mpg.
The vehicle will be embellished with the ‘R’ logo on the central grille, lower right of the vehicle and on the cabin’s right instrument dial and will also wear the Cupra logo on the front bumper and on the steering wheel and seat backrests.
The vehicle will also be fitted with 19” five double-spoke alloys with ultra low 234/35 tyres, 17” 345 x 30mm front disc brakes and 16” 286 x 12mm at the rear.
Interior features of note include: competition-styled bucket seats in grey alcantara upholstery, white LED lighting on the instrument dials, a leather-clad multi-functional steering wheel and sporty aluminium-trimmed pedals.
Other standard equipment on the Cupra R include: Cruise control, Cornering fog lights and MP3-compatable CD/Radio system and parking sensors to name but a few.
