The new Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT S has debuted at the 2009 Detroit SHow, boasting a number of technical upgrades and stylistic changes.
The technical changes to the new Quattroporte Sport GT S relate mainly to the mapping of the 4.7-litre V8, with power increased to 238bhp and the gearshift management software, with new features designed to increase driving enjoyment.
Maximum torque is 361lb-ft between 4,750rpm and 7,200 rpm and the 62mph sprint takes 5.1 seconds.
Also new are the front and rear suspension systems, featuring single-rate dampers, stiffer springs and lower ride height; and the sports exhaust controlled by pneumatic valves for a characteristically spine-tingling soundtrack.
The sportier and more aggressive look is evident in the interior’s and exterior’s stylistic choices, most notably the new black grille with concave vertical fins featuring the Trident logo with red accents, typical of sportier versions of Maserati models.
Also noteworthy are new headlights, in metallic titanium finish; the new M-design seats with perforated Alcantara and leather upholstery; and the standard trim in Titantex, a “titanium coloured” composite material.
No word on prices as yet, but the is likely to cost more than the £80K for the 2008 Quattroporte.
