Bentley to unveil 200mph Continental GTC Speed at Detroit

Bentley will unveil the Continental GTC Speed at the Detroit Show, a four-seat convertible capable of hitting 200mph or 195mph with the roof down - making it the fastest four-seater drop-top in the world.
The Speed is based on the Continental GTC but boosts the saloon's power to a massive 600 horses and 550lb-ft in torque between 1700rpm to 5600rpm from Volkswagen's twin-turbo 6.0-litre W12 engine, resulting in a 0-62mph time of 4.8 seconds.
To keep the convertible in touch with the road, suspension is lowered by 10 mil and track widened to 20 inches, while a spoiler at the back increases downforce.
Stylistically the GTC Speed gets fatter air intakes, chrome headlamp bezels, Bentley-bespoke tyres, twin-rifled exhausts, a restyled grille and red fabric roof.
Re-tuned low-friction dampers improve while the option of carbon ceramic brake discs and adaptive cruise control should make for a more relaxed drive all-round. Betnely says the insulated three-layer fabric roof folds flat in 25 seconds.
Pricing begins at £129,700 for the Continental GTC and £146,100 for the Speed.
