Porsche equips Cayenne with new turbodiesel

From February 2009, Porsche will offer the Cayenne luxury SUV with a diesel engine to take advantage of EU regulations regarding tax incentives for vehicles with diesel engines.
Porsche's increased stake in Volkswagen has also opened up new possibilities regarding diesel technology for the sports-car manufacturer.
Porsche will equip the Cayenne with a 240bhp 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel from Audi, resulting in fuel consumption of 30.4mpg combined and emissions of 244 g/km CO2.
Maximum torque of 405lb-ft complements the Cayenne's sports-oriented chassis dynamics
In the financial year 2007–08, Porsche sold 45,478 Cayennes and is bullish about the turbodiesel SUV's prospects, regardless of the economic downturn.
The new Cayenne with diesel drive will be arriving at Porsche Centres in the UK from February 2009, equipped with the Tiptronic-S automatic gearbox as standard, it will cost from £40,250.
Customers will also be able to explore the dynamic attributes of the car, and develop their own skills behind the wheel, courtesy of a Driving Experience Programme at the new Porsche Driving Experience Centre at Silverstone.
