Renault has released details of the Kangoo Be Bop, a funky mini-MPV designed for urban use due out in the UK in Spring 2009.
Following five-door car and van versions, the Be Bop is the third in the Kangoo range, and will battle Peugeot's van range for the stupidest name on a small van.
A two-tone exterior and raised ground clearance pitch the van at urban users, while four MPV-style seats and contrasting upholsteries aim for customers who need the practicality of a van and want the appeal of a supermini.
The Kangoo Be Bop will be powered by a choice of an 85bhp eco2 1.5-litre dCi; 105bhp 1.5-litre dCi; and 85bhp 1.6-litre petrol model.
3.87m in length, the Be Bop has a luggage capacity of 174 to 1,462 litres. The turning circle is 9.7 metres.
Features will include a sliding rear tailgate window and glazed roof.
The Kangoo Be Bop can be ordered with Carminat Bluetooth CD satellite navigation with GPS navigation with traffic information, a 16/9 seven-inch colour display and Bluetooth connectivity.
A multi-function TunePoint option is located in the glovebox and has USB, MP3 player, and iPod connection ports and is controlled via the steering wheel-mounted fingertip remote control. Hands-free Bluetooth telephone control is also available.
The Renault Kangoo Be Bop will go on sale in Spring 2009.
