The new Peugeot 308 CC coupe-cabriolet will go on sale in the UK from April 2009, with a price tag of around £17,000.
The 308 will be powered by a choice of diesel and turbocharged petrol engines and will be available in three trim levels – S, Sport and GT.
A 1.6-litre petrol engine in 140bhp and 150bhp formats and a 2.0-litre engine in 136bhp or 140bhp guises will be available. Six-speed manual boxes are standard, but four-speed or six-speed autoboxes with Tiptronic control are available.
The 308 CC shares the same “roof concept” as the 307 CC, consisting of a two-part retractable roof with a small folding roof panel and a large rear athermic dark-tinted rear windscreen. The roof opens and closes in only 20 seconds at speeds of up to 7mph.
ESP will be standard on all models, which will be longer, wider and with a larger track than the 307 CC. On all models the integral rear head restraints also house the active extendable roll-over protection bars.
The Peugeot 308 CC is the first Coupé Cabriolet in the world to have all the lateral protection incorporated into the front seat, including head, chest and pelvis.
The 308 CC has been strengthened to maximise safety and suspension performance.
The 308 CC is equipped with passenger and driver’s front air bags, chest/pelvis side air bags and, marking a world first, a head air bag for the front passengers, housed directly in the seat and deployed laterally from the head restraint.
An Airwave system to warm the front occupants’ necks can be selected as an option. In the coupé configuration, the boot volume is 465 litres and 266 litres with the roof folded. Both cloth and leather interior trims will be available. A range of audio and satnav systems are available.
The 308 CC will be on sale in the UK in April 2009 at a starting price of circa £17,000.
