With more than 250,000 European sales in just 18 months, the QASHQAI has been the fastest-selling model in the history of Nissan Europe.
Now, with the arrival of the new seven-seater QASHQAI +2, Nissan bosses are hoping to replicate the success of the original.
Longer and taller than the original, the QASHQAI +2 has been designed to provide greater interior space and practicality.
External changes include new front and rear doors, side glass, a new tailgate and new-look grille.
A vast panoramic roof, some 140mm longer than that on the QASHQAI, is a standard feature.
On board, luggage space rises to 550 litres when the third row of seats are stowed away, an increase of 140 litres over the original, while there is also under floor storage in a larger load area.
Initially available in either two-litre petrol or diesel, sales of smaller 1.6-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesels will begin in January.
The two-litre diesel is available either in six-speed manual or automatic, and the petrol offers both five- and six-speed manual and a CVT transmission.
Meanwhile, there are two versions of the chassis available, offering a choice of two- and four-wheel drive.
