Volkswagen has announced a new entry-level specification and two additional engines for the Scirocco coupé, available to order now.
Prices for the entry-level model, fitted with a 158bhp 1.4-litre TSI engine, start at £18,790 on the road.
The new engines are now available in base trim, which features a six-CD autochanger, rain and dusk sensor, multifunction computer, air conditioning and exclusive 17-inch ‘Donington’ alloy wheels.
Safety features include ABS, ESP and six airbags all standard.
The 158bhp 1.4-litre TSI accelerates the Scirocco to 62mph in eight seconds while returning 42.8mpg on the combined cycle and emitting 154g/km of CO2.
New entry-level and GT models are now available with a 139bhp 2.0-litre common rail turbodiesel linked to either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic DSG gearbox.
Both versions hit 62mph in 9.3 seconds while returning 55.4mpg (51.4 for DSG) and 134g/km of CO2 (145g/km for DSG).
All Scirocco models benefit from Adaptive Chassis Control (ACC), which operates via a set of four electrically adjustable dampers to alter the car’s suspension, steering and throttle response set-up, and allows the driver to choose the most appropriate setting for the journey.
