Mazda will reveal a four-door saloon version of the all-new Mazda3 at the Los Angeles Auto Show on 19th November 2008.
The all-new Mazda3 hatch and saloon will be hot on the heels of the all‑new Mazda2 and all-new Mazda6 last year.
Based on the current Ford Focus, the Mazda3 will be a more common sight in hatch form in the UK. While a range of petrol and diesel models are likely to be available, a hot hatch version with a 2.2-litre petrol engine is the likely range-topper.
Mazda says every element of the all-new Mazda3 has been developed along the lines of its long-term “Sustainable Zoom-Zoom” vision, designed to reduce environmental impact while balancing a sense of fun.
Since its launch in 2003, the current Mazda3 has sold around 1.8 million vehicles globally, including 13,000 sales in the UK last year.
Following the world debut of the North American specification saloon at the show, the five-door hatchback version will be revealed in line with Mazda’s global sales schedule.
