Volvo unveil ultimate factory-built V70 police car

The type of cops and robbers scenarios played out on UK streets just got grittier as Volvo releases the ultimate factory-built V70 police car at the National Association of Police Fleet Manager’s (NAPFM) Conference in Cheltenham.

Developed in conjunction with the National Police Improvement Agency (NAPFM), Police Federation and other users, the uniquely-specified Volvo V70 will see active service, bringing law breakers to a dramatic halt across Britain in the foreseeable future.

Constructed on Volvo’s standard assembly line in Torslanda, Sweden, Volvo is adamant that this is the first time a fully-equipped frontline UK police car has been available to factory order, and on the assumption is equally confident of garnering interest and down payments from British police forces with immediate effect.

However all new customers henceforth can expect delivery of their Volvo V70 Turn Key police car within an estimated 12-14 weeks from their initial order.

Every detailed facet of the new Volvo V70 Turn Key police car takes into account what makes British panda cars stand out in emergency situations, including the Battenberg-striped coachwork livery and roof-mounted light bar to all radio preparation and wiring and a master control panel for operation.

Needless to say, the factory fitted options list reads slightly differently to usual and includes the VASCAR speed detection system, a police surveillance video camera and a two dog cage.

Calling on Volvo’s tried and tested police car chassis – which has traditionally observed self-leveling suspension, 17.5 inch brakes and strengthened alloys – the new V70’s accruements will further cut stopping distances and brake disc ventilation.

Volvo first announced its intentions to design and build the ultimate Turn Key police car at last year’s NAPFM conference. Now, 12 months on, after taking into consideration the wish lists of all UK police authorities, Volvo has delivered the complete car with a range of petrol, diesel and FlexiFuel engines.
