Suzuki has launched the new 2.4 Grand Vitara SUV, promising improved engine performance, equipment specifications, safety, styling and all-round quality in the 4x4.
The Grand Vitara 2.4-litre is available in three and five-door body styles and is powered by a 164bhp 2.4-litre petrol engine, while the five-door benefits from a more powerful 167bhp unit.
With five-speed manual transmission, CO2 emissions are unchanged at 208g/km for the five-door model and 205g/km for three-door.
The engine incorporates a balancer shaft, three-stage variable air intake and a tumble control valve in the intake ports to achieve the best possible fuel-air mixture, says Suzuki.
The 2.4-litre Grand Vitara is equipped with ESP as standard, while other safety features include the introduction of ventilated rear disc brakes and extra shock-absorbing elements around the bonnet, wings and front bumper to reduce the risk of injury to pedestrians.
Outside on the Grand Vitara there is a revised front end treatment and new door mirrors with integrated turn indicators, while inside chrome and wood-effect inlays add extra touches of quality.
Dashboard controls are simplified, including a new multi-information display and revised air conditioning control panel.
The 2.4-litre model features an in-dash 6CD player with MP3 compatibility, rear privacy glass and 17-inch wheels as standard.
Five-door models add leather seats with front seat heating; High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps, cruise control, 18-inch wheels and electrically-operated glass sun-roof as standard.
The new Suzuki Grand Vitara is on sale from 1 October, priced from £14,499 for 2.4-litre three-door manual and £17,499 for five-door manual on the road.
