Renault launches new Kangoo and Kangoo Compact range


The new Renault Kangoo range will go on sale in the UK from November, with prices ranging from £8,690, excluding VAT.

Renault's compact van will come in two bodystyles, Kangoo Compact and Kangoo Van, with two trim levels and five engines available across the short and standard wheelbase versions amounting to 21 models.

The Kangoo Compact features a load volume and payload and 2.3m3 and 500kg respectively, while the Kangoo features a load volume of 3m3 and payload of either 650kg and 800kg.

Both models feature a 30W CD-RDS audio system, ABS with EBD, four load anchorage points, remote control central locking, full steel bulkhead, overhead storage shelf, driver’s side airbag, height-adjustable seatbelts and steering wheel, with SL+ adding height adjustable driver’s seat, additional side anchorage points and a central console with armrest.

The entry-level version of the Kangoo Van ML adds rear disc brakes and six load anchorage points over the Kangoo Compact SL equipment level.

Top-of-the-range ML+ adds a nearside side-loading door to the equipment level of the Kangoo Compact SL+.

Active and passive safety features include latest-generation ABS, while ESP is an option on the ML+. One airbag is standard.

Kangoo engines

The 1.5 dCi engines achieve the Company’s eco² status, meeting criteria on factory ISO 14001 standards, CO2 outputs below 140g/km using a proportin of recycled materials.

The economy and emissions are 54.3mpg and 137g/km on the new Kangoo dCi 85 respectively.

The new Kangoo Van Compact features a 1.5 dCi diesel with an output of either 70bhp or 85bhp, while the 1.6 petrol unit delivers 90bhp. All of the engines drive through a five-speed manual gearbox.

Options

Options for the Kangoo Compact include air conditioning, cruise control, electrically-adjustable and heated door mirrors, electric windows with one-touch on the driver’s side, to front foglights, body-coloured bumpers and door mirrors, load area panelling/ply lining, driver-controlled speed limiter, rear parking sensors, glazed rear doors and trip computer.

Its larger sibling adds an offside side loading door, a glazed panel in the side loading door and a glazed rear tailgate.

Also available on both bodystyles are auto lights and wipers, front passenger airbag and front lateral airbags, innovative sliding rear roof flap for taller loads and integrated satellite navigation.

Speed Limiter

A speed limiter function can be purchased for £50 and can be programmed to 56mph, 62mph or 68mph.

The Multi-functional TunePoint system is available across the range, enabling occupants to listen to their own music collection, via three ports for connecting USB keys, MP3 players and iPods and controllable via fingertip remote controls on the steering wheel.

The Air Con+ Pack A includes manual conditioning, electric windows, body-coloured, electrically operated and heated door mirrors. The Convenience Pack features electric windows and body-coloured, electrically operated and heated electric door mirrors.

Both versions of New Kangoo are available in a choice of 12 colours, seven of which are metallic, priced at £330.
