New trademarks suggest return of the Jaguar E-Type

Rumours that Jaguar is planning a new sports car to rival the likes of the Porsche 911 and Audi R8 have been boosted by the news that Jag has registered several new trademarks in the UK.
The names include C-XE and XE, likely concept and production names for anew sports car, and C-XJ - likely to be a concept version of the new XJ luxury saloon.
A new XJ has been on the cards for some time now, and is expected to debut in 2010, but the C-XE and XE trademarks point to the likelihood of an all-new sports car.
Rumours of a new car akin to the E-Type have been circulating for some time, and Ratan Tata has suggested that the Big Cat would move away from volume production towards stylish sports cars and execs.
Jaguar's XF executive sports saloon was previewed by the C-XF saloon.
