Hyundai i800 large MPV wins towcar award

The Hyundai i800 has won The Caravan Club Towcar of the Year for the £16,000 to £20,000 category.
The judges put the 2.5-litre four-cylinder CRDi diesel-equipped i800 through its paces, and judged the large MPV best in category for towing - with a significant 300lb-ft of torque available from the 168bhp engine.
The i800 has 851 litres of space in the boot even with eight passengers on board.
The expert judges commented “the i800 is a cracking load carrier, shows a lovely attitude when hitched and good access to towing sockets. Hyundai enters the market for big people carriers with a much cheaper alternative to vehicles such as the VW Caravelle and Renault Espace”.
