Bentley has unveiled the final model to bear the Arnage badge, in the shape of the limited-edition Arnage Final Series.
Just 150 examples of the Final Series will be made, boasting the performance of the T with the refinement of the R, according to Bentley.
The four-door flagship will be powered by a 500bhp 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, developing over 738lb-ft of torque through a six-speed ZF automatic transmission. 62mph takes 5.2 seconds, 100mph in 12.1 seconds and top speed of the Final Series is 179mph.
To keep all that power in check, a stiff bodyshell boasting 6,500 spot welds delivers 'outstanding' ride and refinement. The Arnage's fully independent double wishbone front and rear suspension provide body control and cross-drilled brake discs can be specified.
The V8 engine that powers the Final Series is 50 years in the making, with the 1959 design still forming the basis of the Arnage powertrain. Combined fuel consumption is 14.5mpg and emissions a hefty 465g/km.
A Traction Control system is calibrated with the aim of avoiding all unnecessary reductions in engine torque, while ESP is set-up to allow 'spirited' handling while keeping the Final Series on all four wheels.
The Bentley matrix radiator grille with Flying ‘B’ mascot and dark-tinted lower grille, 20-inch five-spoke, two-piece alloy wheels and ‘Le Mans’ lower front wing air vents comprise uniquely Bentley features.
Available as options are hand-made waistrails with inset chrome strip with recessed Bentley badges, rear cocktail cabinet and document storage trimmed in hide and picnic tables available in three wood veneers.
Built by hand, the creation of each Arnage takes a minimum of six weeks. As standard is the full-leather interior trim, made of 17 cows, says the luxury manufacturer.
Arnage Final Series is available in the full Bentley range of 42 exterior colours, 25 interior hides, and three veneers, plus the comprehensive line-up of Mulliner options and its bespoke colour-matching service.
Standard enhancements include a new audio head unit with larger display screen and an SD (secure digital) memory card slot; new rear removable cup holders and new hide covered boot rail.
Options include an iPod Interface and 12 volt power outlet for charging purposes; rear remote control and Naim audio system.
Commenting on the final chapter of the Arnage story, Stuart McCullough, Member of the Board, Sales and Marketing, says:
“The Final Series is the perfect model to give our Arnage flagship a splendid send off. Handcrafted at Crewe, this exclusive run of 150 cars represents the ultimate expression of Bentley luxury and effortless power.”
