Peugeot has revised the 407 saloon for 2009, with the new model going on sale in September with exterior and interior enhancements, a new satnav system, a new ‘SR’ model and a new low-CO2 HDi 140bhp diesel engine.
The 407 range, which includes saloon, SW and coupé body styles, will receive a more distinctive front air intake and rear diffuser style number-plate surround.
The interior now features the new ‘piano black’ finish on SE and GT specifications, which is applied to the door handle and air vent surrounds and to the centre console.
Peugeot says the driving dynamics have been improved for the revised models, while new equipment includes front parking assistance.
Engine options include an updated 2.0-litre HDi 140bhp engine with a 6-speed manual gearbox returning 49.5mpg and emitting 150g/km.
A 1.6-litre HDi 110FAP engine with a Diesel Particulate Filter emits 140g/km in Saloon format - all Peugeot HDi engines can operate on 30% biodiesel, while a new 2.0-litre ‘Bioflex’ engine operating on E85 fuel will also be available from November.
Standard S specification includes ESP, seven airbags, remote central locking with deadlocks, leather steering wheel and climate control, while new SR spec adds 16” alloy wheels, smartnav satellite navigation system and Bluetooth handsfree telephone equipment.
