New Smart Fortwo Limited Two exposed

New Smart Fortwo Limited Two exposed

September marks the introduction of the new Smart Fortwo Limited Two Limited Two coupe (£9,575) and cabrio (£11,525) variants being unleashed on an open-armed UK market. But prospective city-car snapper-uppers best act quick smart, as these strictly limited edition models won’t loiter come next month.

All of which should be in lower case. The Smart Fortwo Limited Two bit that is. As is the grammatically incorrect and punctually disobedient Smart way. And something that MT simply cannot accept.

Anyone would think Smart wants to keep a lid on its best bits. Made all the more strange when you learn that the smart fortwo limited edition (yeah I know) is in fact a convertible jobbie for the most part that rips off the ever-popular 71bhp smart fortwo passion’s engine and put to good use here.

Thrust into the waiting flashbulbs in both cabrio and coupe body styles, this specially mispelt edition is described as being for smart enthusiasts ‘searching for that certain something extra’.

The type that peer down and see the world at their feet, then glance upward and see nothing, because there’s a roof in their line of vision. Cast this off though and they then observe shoals of pink hippopotami swimming in a sea of fluffy white clouds, such is their lucidity of being.

So the likeable, but curiously odd smart fortwo limited two will suit them down to the ground.

Moving on from our own personal hang-ups though, and we can clearly see that the fortwo limited two encompasses a raft of additional equipment on the inside, and a lick of a new unique paint finish on the outer shell. Which – depending on light/reflection/leisure drug sampled – varies in shade when you stare long and hard at it.

The light blue paintjob is said to fluctuate betwixt subtle silver and beige tones according to the brochure.

Once you’ve determined what colour you’re looking at, the driver of a newly-acquired smart fortwo might also notice its special commemorative badging and six-spoke pram wheels too.

There’s a triumvirate of options to premeditate a show of hands at the smart dealership, electric power steering, lockable glove box and a smart sound system backing up this statement.

The insides are complimented by cognac brown heated leather seats, three-spoke sports steering wheel with gearshift, leather gear knob and floor mats with leathery trim. A rev counter and clock are also added into the melting pot.

Prospective buyers will need to act quickly mind, as numbers of this special edition will be limited in order to retain its exclusivity.

On-the-road pricing is £9,575 for the coupé and £11,525 for the cabrio. Ready, steady.....
