This is the first image anywhere on the planet of the hush-hush new Aston Martin One-77 supercar.
OK. You might have to readjust your contrast settings, facilitate the zoom button and place your bifocals to fully appreciate just what the all-new, strictly limited edition Aston Martin flagship looks like.
Anyway, this is it. But don’t get too excited, as, unless you’ve got a spare £1.2 million kicking about you won’t be one of the 77 owners of this new, hand-built, 650bhp 7.0-litre V12 brute that rests on an aluminium and carbon fibre chassis.
With information at this juncture more covert than an MI6 Christmas Party - including the actual fact it was even being planned - is what surely must be the best kept automotive secret in history.
This potential future James Bond-proof Aston Martin One-77 is so called because it will own spawn 77 examples, all of which will come bespoke to individual client’s tastes, adding further exclusivity to a supercar that doesn’t really get any more exclusive.
Likely to be officially unveiled at this year’s Paris Motor Show for the first time anywhere in public – and going on sale toward the end of 2009 - what information we can gleam implies that the One-77 will makes its 62mph meeting in 3.5 seconds and forcefully make ram its point home until approximately 220mph plus.
The One-77 will instantly assume flagship status in the Aston Martin range, and becomes the inaugural all-new Aston to be originated, designed and manufactured since the quintessential British car maker – biding its time under Ford’s ownership of course – fell into the hands of an investment group led by Prodrive’s head honcho.
Whether or not the One-77 plays an integral part in the much speculated collaboration between Aston Martin and Mercedes-Benz – codenamed Project Alligator – or not, remains to be seen.
As does comprehensive tech spec that will include an actual launch date, actual top speed, actual price and the whole shooting party.
Aston Martin has released a snapshot of the stunning new One-77; the ultimate creative interpretation of the renowned British marque.
One-77 fuses advanced technology with stunning Aston Martin design to create possibly the world’s most desirable automotive art form.
Based on a sophisticated carbon fibre chassis with a handcrafted aluminium body, this 7.0-litre V12 super car will deliver exhilarating performance for a strictly limited number of discerning customers.
