Published: 10 July 2008
Volvo has added a host of extras aimed at chauffeurs to its new Volvo V70 SE estates and S80 SE executive saloons for those buyers putting in their requests before 30 September.
With the inclusion of creature comforts totaling nearly £4,000, the luxury quota in these Volvos has been seriously enhanced and are aimed at making make the V70 estate and S80 saloon a nicer place to be for business or pleasure.
A fully integrated RTI Navigation System, complimentary leather-facing upholstery, geartronic transmission and the choice of metallic or pearlescent coachwork mark these celebrated models apart from the competition, along with electronic climate, 8-speaker CD player, 17” alloys and colour-coded front spoiler and side skirts, as always complimented by the Swedish car manufacturers’ usual full suite of safety assemblage.
Engines supporting the Volvo S80 include the frugal 2.0-litre diesel that promotes combined fuel economy of 49.6mpg and caps CO2 emissions at 151g/km, the assured presence of the 182bhp D5 oil-burner as well as the powerfully performing 310bhp V8 petrol-spirited power train.
The Volvo V70 adds even more versatility just when you didn’t think there could be any more room for improvements, starting with the efficient 2.0-litre diesel that delivers combined fuel economy of 47.9mpg with some degree of style, whilst returning carbon dioxide emissions of 157g/km. Topping the range is the classy 281bhp T6 AWD petrol model.
Prices commence at £23,495 for the Volvo S80 2.0-litre SE, and £24,995 for the V70 2.0-litre SE.
