New Ford Transit Connect Sportvan: Easy to spot filling rear view mirror
Published: 09 July 2008
Ford has announced that its new Transit Connect Sportvan will cost UK buyers £15,325 when sales commence in September this year, with only 300 examples available on launch.
Based on the Ford SWB 200 light commercial, the new Connect Sportvan comes equipped with the 108bhp 1.8-litre Duratorq TDCI engine with 184lb-ft of torque on tap.
From the outside, the Connect Sportvan sets out its stall in Performance Blue livery, broken only by the flashing of twin white vertical body stripes that effect that ‘Le Mans’ look that Ford tend to go with.
Other sporty exterior accruements see colour-coded bumpers, chrome grille, side skirts, front and rear sports skid plates, body-coloured roof lip spoiler, silver door mirror housings, chrome exhaust pipe trims and seven-spoke 18” alloys paraded. Arguably, white van man finally has a ride worthy of his reputation for outside lane endeavours to buy into.
The interior of the new Connect Sportvan features leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, silver surround to the centre console and leather seats. ABS, Traction Control, Park Distance Control, air-con, double-locking assembly, perimeter alarm and a remote controlled infotainment system also feature prominently within.
