Cadillac has announced prices for the new Cadillac CTS sport saloon, which will debut at the British International Motorshow and goes on sale on 1 September 2008.
Two rear-wheel drive models will be available at £26,995 for the 210bhp 2.8-litre V6 petrol and £32,995 for the 208bhp 3.6-litre direct injection V6 petrol engine.
Both models will be mated to a six-speed automatic transmission - the 2.8-litre through a through floor selector and the larger engine with paddle-shift controls. The model range will be joined by a new 2.9-litre V6 diesel engine in 2009. Both rear-wheel drive sport saloon models come with traction control and a limited slip differential.
A single ‘Sport Luxury’ trim will include a wide array of standard equipment, with the only options being metallic or premium metallic exterior paint finish, electric sunroof and ‘Sapele Pommele’ wood interior trim finish.
Standard kit includes 18-inch alloy wheels, bi-xenon high-intensity headlights with Adaptive Forward Lighting, exposed edge glass, Automatic “RainSense” windscreen wipers with heated windscreen wash system and rear park assist.
Interior features hand-cut and sewn leather-wrapped dashboard and door trim, complementing full leather seating; heated front seats with eight-way power adjustment controls; dual-zone automatic climate control; cruise control and electric push-button hand brake and recessed ambient interior lighting.
Multimedia is covered by an infotainment system with fully-retractable multi-function eight-inch touch-screen VGA display in tandem with a 300 watt 10-speaker Bose 5.1 Cabin Surround sound system with full iPod integration and 40-gigabyte hard drive and CD player with MP3 file compatibility.
A DVD player and TV tuner round off the in-car entertainment. A hard disk drive (HDD) navigation system results in 30 per cent quicker route calculations, says Cadillac.
“The launch of the right-hand drive CTS marks a major step forward for the Cadillac brand in the UK,” said Jonathan Nash, director in charge, Cadillac UK.
“We believe the focus on dramatic design, craftsmanship and the class leading technologies will ensure the CTS is a desirable, exclusive alternative in today’s premium car market.”
