New 2009 Range Rover Autobiography revealed

New 2009 Range Rover Autobiography flagship at British Motor Show

The new 2009 Range Rover Autobiography flagship will lead by example with new 20-inch diamond-turned twin-seven-spoke alloy wheels, new paint colours, an optional half wood steering wheel with matching gearshift insert and a forest of leather as it debuts at the British International Motor Show.

For those upmarket SUV buyers who thought that Range Rover was catering a little more to the hoi-polloi’s coinage, minds will be put back at rest with the introduction of the Limited Edition Autobiography model set to put the Range Rover out of reach of all but those with cut-glass accents and extensive wine knowledge.

Billed as the most luxurious Range Rover ever, the Autobiography puts this theory to the test by garnishing more leather than any other Rangey. The manufacturer had better hope that you like having your hides tanned as the semi-aniline leather creeps onto just about every interior surface. The seats, steering wheel, door panels, centre console, dashboard, storage bins and even floor mat edges have evolved from a bovine starting point.

Although, the more familiar flashes of bark insert are optional for those buyers who wish to break up the Land of Leather feel, at least on the steering wheel and gear shifter anyway.

With an exterior that is conspicuous by its absence of bold changes, Range Rover Autobiography buyers might well want to request the exterior design package on the Range Rover TDV8 Autobiography, which will do all the talking for you for a reassuringly expensive £72,995.

Across the Range Rover line-up for 2009 there are new wheel styles, new exterior colours and optional wood and leather heated steering wheels. Satellite navigation and Hybrid TV will now be available as standard from HSE specification.

The new 2009 Range Rover TDV8 HSE is the entry level model and will set buyers back by £58,695. The TDV8 Vogue comes in at £63,950, whilst the TDV8 Vogue SE costs £69,495. The TDV8 Autobiography as detailed above can be exchanged for £72,995 and the Supercharged Autobiography will relieve you of £76,495.
