UK electric car company Lightning will debut the all-electric zero-emissions Lightning GT EV at the British Motor Show on 23 July.
The all-electric zero-emission Lightning GT EV utilises soft hybrid elements and runs on electric power from an electric drivetrain with 'nano titanate' battery packs and outputs up to 700bhp.
Lightning says its Nano batteries are quicker in charging and power delivery, longer-lasting, safer and kinder to the environment than lithium-ion batteries.
Batteries power individual wheels enabling independent traction control and regenerative braking, giving a range of 250 miles with a reported ten-minute charge.
Top speed is 130mph, while the 62mph sprint takes a mere four seconds.
Interior trim on the Lightning GT EV includes ABS, traction control, programmable external engine sound generator, acoustic information and entertainment system, part leather/alcantara sports seats, alloy wheels, tinted windows, home-based charging system (EVCS) with integral safety features, Hella focused beam halogen headlamps and LED lights.
Aircon, a tyre pressure monitoring system, satnav, leather trim and a mobile charging system are optional.
Pricing is yet to be announced, but the Lightning Car Company is taking £15,000 deposits. The company says that the Lightning GT offers savings of up to £17K per year, based on savings on road tax, fuel and congestion charging.
