Kahn Cosworth Range Rover Sport 300 debuts

The Goodwood Festival of Speed will see the world debut of the all-new Kahn Cosworth Range Rover Sport 300, as tuning matters hot up on the 4X4 scene.

It’s clearly a busy time for Range Rover tuners who’ve been burning the midnight oil of late in a bid to get the better of each other. Strut, Arden and Overfinch have all cobbled together Range Rover conversions from the sublime to the cor blimey to the downright absurd.

Even 4X4 manufacturing donor Land Rover itself has been relieving cows of more of coats to make its very own new Autobiography cut the ostentatiously off-road mustard in a marginally more considered way.

But they’re all missing the one vital ingredient. The one that comes in the greasy tin marked ‘Cosworth Engineering’, which is exactly where Kahn Automotive enters the customized Range Rover fray.

The all-new Kahn Cosworth Range Rover Sport 300 utilizes a 3.6-litre engine TDV8 engine that Cosworth has turned the tuning dial up on, from 268bhp to 300bhp. Whilst Kahn Designs has turned its attentions to the serious business of titivating.

A large rear spoiler, flared wheel arches, front spoiler and 22” bad boy rims with the rears deeper dished than the fronts for extra phatness.

Making its official debut at this weekends Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Kahn Cosworth Range Rover Sport 300 will set buyers back £75,995, which is £17K more than a less pimped TDV8, but appease the sneering by reminding them that 0 – 62mph now takes roughly 8 seconds and top speed is 135mph.

Cosworth Engineering and Kahn Automotive, two British motorsport heavyweights

These two names from the UK's more recent motoring history have come together to apply their measured thinking to the realms of another British dynasty – Range Rover. Step forward Kahn Automotive designs and that bastion of English automotive engineering – Cosworth.

Having been responsible for manufacturing a plethora of stunning alloys and aftermarket kit over the years that have graced everything from top-notch Mercedes' and Aston Martin's to hardly-slipshod BMW's and Bentley's, Kahn inventing the word 'Bling' years before the word was embraced by the Oxford English.

If Kahn however has a 2.1 in Metalology though, then Cosworth hold a PhD in Beastiography. Completing its schooling and plying its lucrative trade under the tutelage of none other than Ford - Lest we forget the Ford Sierra Cosworth and Ford Escort Cosworth – Cosworth’s engineering excellence has been applied to Formula One and the world of rallying during large chunks of the past few decades.
