Jaguar XK models prepare to celebrate 60th at Goodwood

This year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed will see one of the biggest collections of the always fashionable Jaguar XK models line up to mark its 60th anniversary.
Assailing the legendary Goodwill hill climb will be the XK120 ‘Montlhery’ fixed head coupe as driven by one Stirling Moss; the 1950 Alpine and RAC Rally-winning ‘NUB 120’ XK; the 1957 Le Mans-winning Jaguar D-Type, and the 1988 Le Mans triumphant XJR-9 that won sporting Dunlop Tyres' racing colours.
Although nearly pensionable now, in an age when style was standard and never on the options list, the Jaguar XK in its many guises created and sustained the look of the changing automotive times, exemplified in the XK120, XK140, D-Type, XJR-9 and right up to date with the XKR-S.
The world first caught a glimpse of the Jaguar XK120 two-seater at the 1948 London Motor Show, where the public’s love affair with Jaguar as a sporting marque was set in motion.
