The Daihatsu Terios livens its act up with the introduction of new Kiri limited-edition model that’s arrived in UK. 250 Terios complete with additional kit add up to more compact 4X4 pleasure for little extra money.
Derived from the Terios 1.5S compact 4X4, the new Kiri limited-edition model differs from its ready salted flavoured sibling by adding a green metallic paint job, unique five-spoke 16” alloys, leather-covered steering wheel, front fog lamps and - as is customary with limited-edition models so it seems - ‘special’ body graphics.
Normally the scene of heinous crimes against carmanity, there’s no need to put a cordon around the new Terios Kiri mercifully, as they don’t take anything away from its overall appearance.
And the cost for all these extras? £900 over the standard £12,995 price tag, £13,895 is all soft-road fans need to magic out of thin air whilst stocks last.
On the subject of which, the new Daihatsu Terios Kiri emits 185g/km of carbon dioxide, resulting in drivers stumping up £170 per annum to keep it legally on the road.
The no extra thrills Terios already boasts some pretty useful spec as standard, including air con, passenger and side airbags, CD player, reverse parking sensors, ABS with EBD and permanent four wheel drive with ‘leccy centre diff-lock, and as such Daihatsu evidently didn’t think improvement was needed.
So it resisted the urge and instead ensured it didn’t forget to slap its five year unlimited mileage warranty that includes roadside assistance. Although up for review at the end of 2008, you best look to your laurels if you want to cash in, as 250 models will soon shift at this rate.
