Fiat 500 supermini seen as great long-term car investment

Strong residuals have been predicted for the new Fiat 500 supermini.
Professional speculators are now predicting that your Fiat 500 will now be worth 46 per cent of its list price after three years, rather than the originally-forecast 42 per cent.
In real terms this means your Fiat 500 supermini will cost someone wanting to take it off your hands an extra £350 in 2011. Those Fiat buyers who have snapped up the entry level 1.2-litre Pop model, will have the biggest grin however, as it will still represent 47 per cent of its initial price three years from now.
Those who fund the purchase through contract hire or PCP should have their monthly rental payments reduced by 20 per cent.
Commenting on the latest revisions, Adam Pumfrey - Fleet and Remarketing director for Fiat Group Automobiles UK – says, “The residual value guides have reacted positively to the success of the 500 and have increased their used predictions accordingly. This is good news for those who have already bought one and it should help reduce monthly costs.”
