Clarkson prepares for some car football, burn-outs and Stig-action
Published: 11 June 2008
With news of the Top Gear Live shows being staged as an integral part of this year’s twin-venue MPH 08 travelling automotive circus, advanced interest in ticket information has gone through the roof, leaving those pulling the strings behind the autumn event in something of a spin.
Tickets go on sale on Friday 13 June from 9.00am, and therefore MPH 08 organisers have called on more backroom staff to cope with the Clarkson confirmation-instigating demand that’s resulted in previously unprecedented ticket enquiries.
Jezza and his Top Gear partners in motoring mayhem, the Hamster and The Stig, are now set to be the star attractions for the four dates in London’s Earls Court between October 30 and November 2 2008, before taking the show on a northerly road, destination Birmingham’s NEC for a further four outings between November 13 and November 16.
Aside from the Top Gear roadshow, the rarefied likes of Aston Martin, Bentley, Caparo, Ferrari, Invicta, Jaguar, Koenigsegg, Lamborghini, Maserati, Noble, Pagani, Porsche, Rolls-Royce and Spyker will be pitching up its veritable bevy of beauties in the UK’s capital city and Britain’s answer to Detroit. In effect giving those putting the show together a £1 billion insurance headache.
Clarkson will head up what’s being described as a live action spectacular, whereby team Top Gear’s creative flux will be stretched to the limit as they aim to deliver a performance brimming with breathtaking stunts, hilarious challenges and show-stopping driving sequences to satisfy the most hard to please petrol heads out there.
Four ticket types are up for grabs, priced from £28 up to £105.
James May will not be present at the MPH show, despite some reports that he would.

LSUK, thought to have been rescused by Euro Car Parts, has been unexpectedly closed by the new owners with the loss of over 600 jobs.
