Skoda to put Yeti SUV into production
The improbably-named Skoda Yeti concept

The Skoda Yeti will launch in Europe in 2009 as Skoda's attempt to the booming new crossover SUV niche.
The Yeti may borrow components from the similar Volkswagen Tiguan but looks likely be built on a new platform thought to be a new small-car platform to be used across the VW family.
If that's the case the Yeti may go head-to-head with smaller crossover SUVs such as the Suzuki Jimny and Nissan Qashqai.
The car's styling is likely to be closely based on the Yeti concept car, which was first seen at the Geneva Motor Show in 2005. It's not yet known if the Yeti name will be used.
Skoda is also said to be planning a number of new models, including a small saloon and new versions of existing models such as the Superb.
