Peugeot 308 sets world records for fuel consumption

The Peugeot 308 HDi 110 has secured a place in the 2009 Guinness Book of Records after setting two new world records for fuel consumption.
Husband and wife team John and Helen Taylor drove a completely Peugeot 308 HDi 110 hatchback on a 25-day, 9,000-mile journey around the coast of Australia, recording 1192 miles on just 60 litres of diesel fuel and an average fuel consumption of 90.75 mpg.
The Peugeot 308 HDi 110 hatchback now holds the world record for both the highest average fuel consumption on a journey, and the record for the furthest distance travelled on a full tank of fuel.
“We were very aware of the strong environmental credentials of the 308 before we set out on this journey; but we had no idea, however, that it would be such a record breaker.
"For us, the Peugeot 308 is the perfect family car; it can comfortably seat five adults and during our 25 day trip, the boot space proved itself too, swallowing up all of our necessary luggage,” said John Taylor of the record.
UK Drivers buying new Peugeot 308 or 308 SW now will receive £308-worth of free fuel until end of September. Which equates to 3,000 miles of cost and fuel efficient driving for hard-hit British motorists.
Peugeot has revealed the new 308 CC coupe-cabriolet ahead of its debut at the forthcoming Paris Motor Show in September.
The Peugeot 308 is now available as a front-line police car, following the completion of the first equipped conversions by Peugeot’s Special Vehicle Operation
The Peugeot 308 SW is spacious, well-specced, comfortable and practical but it comes at a price and does not match up to out-and-out MPVs.
Priced from £14,395, the new Peugeot 308 SW will be regaled in the medium car segment from June in UK.
