As this image testifies, the all-new Ferrari California has added another colour to its collection – Azzurro Blue.The new pictures of the California with its roof closed have just emerged, along with captions that reveal the folding hardtop will retract within 14 seconds.As you already know, the California is propelled toward 62mph in less than four seconds courtesy of Ferrari's new 'Launch Control' dial that's said to eliminate unacceptable wheel spin. The 460bhp, 4.3-litre V8 engine will be mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch semi-automated transmission that will take gear-shifting into blink-and-you'll-miss-it-territory.Aside from this though, step forward a rather pleased-with-himself Luca di Montezemolo, President of Prancing Horse PLC who this week has given the all-new California a right old pasting around the Fiorano circuit near the home of Ferrari’s operations in Maranello, Italy.So believe us when we say the all-new Ferrari California is as good as it looks, as we’ve had it from the horse's mouth, metaphorically-speaking.Indeed, Luca di Montezemolo became the California’s surprise test pilot this week, unsurprisingly lavishing more than a broad sprinkling of praise on the car in question. Amounting to a deal more than the cursory ‘oooohh’ and ‘ahhhh’ the rest of us mere mortals could probably conjure up after a tilt in a Ferrari of this ilk, he uttered the following as he clambered out."I am very satisfied indeed with the work that the women and men of Ferrari have done. The California is an extraordinary car and I was delighted with the performance, comfort and driving pleasure it delivered.”

Its gearbox, suspensions and chassis are the most advanced possible.”Just before his wording leant towards a pre-written script. "This is the first dual-purpose Spider/Coupé with a retractable hard top that closes in just 14 seconds. Despite its extraordinary performance, the California 2+ is also exceptionally easy to drive and has a space behind the front seats that makes it supremely flexible in terms of usage.” he concluded.The latest Ferrari supercar will be officially de-robed at the Paris Motor Show in October this year, and is likely to cost in the region of £150,000.
Ferrari has cancelled the contracts of all European dealers effective from June 30, 2010 as a result of new Block Exemption regulations.

If looks alone guaranteed success for any car, the Mazda RX-8 would be a sellout. The 1.3-litre rotary engine with 229bhp is a big plus too.
