Compact car manufacturer Daihatsu has boosted sales by 32 per cent so far in 2008, while appointing a new dealer every two weeks.
Daihatsu UK has signed up eight new dealers so far this year and is aiming to grow its 120-strong network to an eventual 140 showrooms.

The new Materia mini-MPV comes with a £500 price cut until the end of June, bringing it down to £10,495 for the 1.5 litre manual and £11,295 for the automatic.
Demand for the revised Copen sports car - now with £2,500 price cut - is continuing to outstrip supply, says Daihatsu. The revised Copen costs £11,495.
The Terios 1.5 S SUV costs £12,995 on-the-road and includes air-conditioning, power-steering, ABS with EBD and full-time four-wheel drive with electronic centre diff-lock.
Sales of the Sirion supermini - available from £7,995 - rose by 54 per cent in 2007.
All Daihatsus now come with a five-year unlimited mileage warranty plus five years’ UK roadside recovery.
Increasingly the supermini is the choice of car-buyers in an age where the economical, practical, easy to park and ´green´ small car is king.
