Nissan Note Visia+ is a beacon of C segment hope
Published: 15 April 2008
Shrinking violets beware, the new, special edition Nissan Micra and Note Visia+ add loudness to proudness this week with the UK de-robing of the sub-£11k models.
Nissan is guaranteeing an even brighter future for UK Micra and Note buyers with the introduction of the two goodie-strewn new models that promise a vibrant driving experience to match the striking looks.
If you like a bit more zest in and on your drive, then the Nissan Micra Visia+ is just the ticket to ride this summer. For £7,995, the entry-level three-door manual (£650 more for access through a further two-doors) Visia+ buyers get more poke than the none-plussed standard-fit Visia courtesy of the adoption of a new 1.2-litre engine under the bonnet.
With fuel-friendly 47.9mpg (manual) and 42.8mpg (£900 option automatic) drawn from the combined cycle, the Micra Visia+ still nudges 62mph in a more forwardly-mobile 13.5 seconds than its less vivid sibling.
The zeal, sorry, real deal is when you peer inside though. Day-glo orange seats and a chocolaty-hued dashboard fascia, steering wheel and gear level prove that all things bright can be beautiful. In small doses anyway. For the more discerning, Graphite fabrics remain to emphasize Nissan's freedom of choice.
UK buyers can also bask in the radiant knowledge that they've just bought a Micra Visia+ in a shade called Sunlit Copper. If they haven't, then they could be staring at any one of the Micra's normal palette of paint jobs also available on this special version.
Additional interior specifications over the normal Micra Visia run to side airbags, front active headrests, CD player, and ISOFIX child seat mounting points amongst other bits and collective bobs.
As for the Visia+ effect that's taken hold of the Nissan Note – starting at £10,595 for the 1.4-litre manual – and it's all about personal spaces. And the way the Note Visia+ interprets it. From the 9-litre glove box that can disguise 12 cans of drink to the Flexi-Board that opens up a whole new world of storage and occupant transporting permutations.
The Note Visia+ also brings the outdoors, indoors with its manual air-con and pollen filter. Again, standard bumph includes side airbags, CD player and child-orientated ISOFIX fitments. Aside from the base-model, you can have a Note Visia+ in 1.6-litre petrol form (manual and auto) or a 1.5-litre turbo diesel should you choose.
