Citroen C1. Zero per cent finance to help UK buyers out
Published: 25 April 2008
Citroen's new raft of 0% APR finance models is just the ticket to ride this month. So much so that it's formed the basis to Citroen's very own 'tips to avoid the UK credit crunch' guide.
• Tip 1: Buy a new Citroen this month. Or any month thereafter.
• Tip 2: Don't buy a Citroen, therefore not spending any money, get no enjoyment out of life, die.
Simple enough advice from Citroen as it plays its customer service card to credit-crunch-ignoring effect by taking its already pliable zero per cent finance deals across its models to the limits of its elasticity.
Now the French manufacturer of the C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, C6, C8 and C-Crosser SUV (other cars in the present Citroen range are available) offers 0% finance over three or four years on the majority of its current 150-strong model line-up.
Not slow on the uptake, the new Citroen C4 Picasso has found 0% finance favour with 70% of its new owners since launch, whilst research indicates that prospective owners of the new C5 don't have to be asked twice about Citroen's finance offer either, in the aftermath of its launch earlier this month.
Elsewhere, with over 100 of its models signed up to it, Citroen's Elect 3 scheme has attracted the interest of 45% of new Citroen purchasers so far this year. As a unique purchase option, Elect 3 affords its devotees to scoot off in a new Citroen from as little as £119 per month.

Euro Car Parts has acquired Pinco 1555 Ltd, including all 53 of LSUK's 53 branches, together with subsidiaries M I Diesel Products, Protech Automotive (UK) and Yeovil Rewind.

Fuel protests similar to those that brought the UK to a halt in 2000 are being planned by a breakaway group of disaffected hauliers, according to press reports.

Euro Car Parts has put out a statement on the closure of LSUK, stating that a closure of the business was unavoidable due to a 'lack of support'.

LSUK, thought to have been rescused by Euro Car Parts, has been unexpectedly closed by the new owners with the loss of over 600 jobs.
