A convertible version of the Bugatti Veyron - one of the fastest cars in the world - will go into production as the Bugatti Veyron Targa.
The Veyron Targa will have a removable glass hard-top, as the Veyron's high speeds and safety cage would make a folding roof or rag-top impossible.
The roadster's top speed will be around 217mph - the coupe can manage 250mph+ - making it the world's fastest open-top.
A fabric rain cover will be included to keep the inside of the £800K car dry, as the roof panel will have to be removed from the car completely.
The Veyron's windscreen and chassis will be strengthened and the Targa will receive new carbon-fibre doors and panels to compensate for the extra weight.
The Veyron Targa is expected to debut in 2009, with around 80 cars planned for production.
No prices have been mentioned, but an asking price nearing a cool one million in sterling seems likely.
Parent group Volkswagen famously loses several million pounds on every Veyron sold.
